Audi Hungaria H1 revenue rises 15.6% yr/yr

Audi Hungaria Motor Kft, the Hungarian unit of German car maker Audi, had revenue of Ft 2.45 billion in the first half of 2006, 15.6% more than in the same period a year earlier, the company said on Tuesday.

Audi Hungaria's plant in Győr, northwest Hungary, produced 995,000 engines in H1 2006, 18% more than in H1 2005. The plant also added a 5.2-liter ten-cylinder engine to its production line.
Audi Hungaria plans to produce 1.8 million engines by year-end. Engines produced at the plant go into Audis, Volkswagens, Skodas and Seats made at plants around the world.
Audi Hungaria made investments of almost €150 million in H1 2006, including €73 million spent on research and development. The company plans to spend a similar amount on investments in the second half.
