The Hungarian unit of German car manufacturer Audi, located in Győr, anticipates this year to be the best in the plant’s history, and expects more developments with no decrease in headcount, despite a reduction in investments worldwide, Hungarian daily Népszabadság said in a report today.

Peter Kössler, managing director of Audi Hungaria Motor Kft. in Győr, told the daily that sales of diesel engines turned out by the plant in Győr did not drop, despite last yearʼs Volkswagen engine rigging scandal, but the usual fluctuation in sales between diesel and gas engines is likely.

Audi is committed to keeping its headcount at current levels, Népszabadság said, adding that at present approximately 11,500 people work in the factory.
