Varga: Hungarian economy should be diversified
The Volkswagen emissions scandal has only reinforced the Hungarian governmentʼs intention to diversify the structure of the countryʼs economy and to strengthen key industries other than vehicle manufacturing, economy minister Mihály Varga said at a conference of the Hungarian Insurers Association (MABISZ) in Budapest yesterday.
The minister mentioned tourism, the pharmaceutical industry and food industry as sectors that need to be developed.
These sectors can expect to receive job-creation and capacity-increasing funding in the near future, both from national and European Union sources, Varga added.
