Ukraine’s Q1 inflation reported to be highest in CIS

The CIS Intergovernmental Statistics Committee said that Ukraine posted the highest level of inflation among CIS countries in Q1 of 2008 with a 9.7% increase in consumer prices.
The Committee said that high levels of inflation were also seen in Azerbaijan at 8% and Kyrgyzstan at 6.1%. It said that Russia posted inflation of 4.8% in January to March 2008, Armenia by 4.8%, Moldova by 4.1%, Belarus by 4.1%, Georgia by 3.4%, Tajikistan by 2.6% and Kazakhstan by 2.5%. (SteelGuru)
