South-west Hungary plans to reclaim landfills

Nearly one hundred towns in SW Hungary plan to reclaim waste landfills at a combined cost of HUF 6.9 billion under the waste-management program of the South Transdanubia region, the regional association of local councils said on Wednesday.
The plan could receive the green light in September, the association said. About 25 landfills will be shut down to protect the environment.
