Russia bans Hungarian poultry imports

Russia has banned the import of Hungarian poultry products in the wake of confirmed cases of bird flu occurring in Hungary, the Russian agricultural ministry announced on Monday.
The regulation came in force on Friday and affects live poultry, eggs, non heat-treated slaughtered poultry and processed poultry, as well as feed and equipment used in the poultry sector, the ministry said. The decision was made after the ministry received information from the International Society for Veterinary Epidemiology reporting cases of the H5 virus in Hungary.
