Lithuania approves operational plan for national energy strategy

The Lithuanian government Thursday approved the country’s operational plan for its national energy strategy for the next five years, news reports from Vilnius said.

Under the plan, Lithuania will develop new energy, improve the efficiency of energy production, strengthen energy security, connect its energy networks with those in European countries, expand energy supplies and boost the efficiency of renewable energy. The government expects that the plan would help ensure energy supplies in the country and boost the competitiveness of its energy products. It will push for relevant legislation, strengthen management, apply new technologies and launch training programs for the implementation of the plan. (people.com.cn)
