KDB again suspends M7 motorway tender

Initiatives

The Public Procurement Arbitration Board (KDB) has suspended a tender for construction of a 35.5-kilometer stretch of the M7 motorway after one of the participants complained that the National Motorway Rt (NA) sent out the invitation only one day before the deadline for bidding, NA spokeswoman Gyöngyi Béni said on Monday.

NA was to have announced the winner of the tender at the start of the week. The latest suspension could mean the stretch will not be completed until 2008, Béni said.
The tender was originally published in December 2005, and NA found all applicants qualified to bid in March 2006. In the second round, six consortiums bid.
