Hungary air quality metering system modernized with Swiss support

Initiatives

Hungary is modernizing its air quality metering system with the support of the Swiss contribution, funding from Switzerland for the twelve states that joined the European Union since the spring of 2004, Rural Development Ministry state secretary Zoltán Illés said at a press conference on Tuesday. The Swiss contribution is covering 85% of the HUF 1.4 billion cost of the investment. The project is one of 40 cleared for support in the framework of the Swiss-Hungarian cooperation program, said Swiss ambassador to Hungary Jean-Francois Paroz. A total of 130.7 million Swiss francs, or about HUF 31 billion, is available to Hungary under the program. The overall goal of the Swiss contribution is to reduce economic and social disparities within the enlarged EU.
