Government revamps education system to accommodate labor market

Initiatives

Hungaryʼs state secretary for workforce training yesterday announced the revisions the government will make to the education system in order to better serve the needs of the country’s labor market, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

Beginning in the 2016/17 academic year, Hungaryʼs secondary trade schools will become trade high schools that offer three-year courses in mastering trades and provide them with a technical and a school-leaving qualification, Secretary of State for Employment Sándor Czomba said. The government would like to increase the number of businesses involved in vocational training from the current 7,000 to 20,000, he added.
