Gov’t determines project allotment of 2007-2013 development funds
Hungary will allocate 45% of its development funds to be used during the EU's 2007-2013 budgetary period for major projects and key investments, while utilizing 25% each for one- and two-round tenders and the remaining 5% for normative support, according to the Thursday issue of business daily Világgazdaság.
The cabinet finalized the second National Development Plan at its Wednesday meeting. The government will send the plan to Brussels next week for approval from the European Commission.
The major projects and key investments specified in the government proposal consist of those intended to help Hungary meet EU prescriptions regarding such matters as water quality, sewage treatment, waste management and the weight capacity of roads, according to Világgazdaság. The newspaper was unable to obtain specific information on how the development funds are to be used with regard to Hungary's six convergence regions and specific operative programs.
