Ganz-Skoda wins bidding for trolleybuses with Ft 890 offer

Ganz-Skoda Közlekedési Zrt, a joint venture of Hungarian engineering company Ganz and Czech peer Skoda, has won a tender to purchase 38 trolleybuses, in various stages of assembly, from Ganz Transelektro Közlekedési (GTK) Zrt, which is under liquidation, for Ft 890 million, GTK CEO László Karda announced on Thursday.
The JV beat two other companies in the bid, Poland's Solaris Bus and Coach and Hungary's Debreceni Közlekedési Zrt. Karda said the bidding started at Ft 749 million.
Orders for the buses were terminated earlier, Karda said.
