Economy ministry drafting home construction program

Initiatives

The National Economy Ministry is working on a home construction program that it wants to finalize and present to the cabinet in November, the head of the portfolio, Mihály Varga, said on state-owned all news channel M1 late yesterday.

The program would be a new element of the recently expanded home purchase subsidy scheme for families, Varga said. More than 50,000 Hungarians have enquired about the scheme, which was broadened from July 1, he said, adding that the allocation would be topped up if interest is strong.
