Two new blocks at Hungary's Paks nuclear power plant will go online at the start of the 2030s "at the latest", Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said after talks in Moscow on Friday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

"On the basis of the talks today, I can say that all conditions are in place for the two new blocks at the Paks nuclear power plant to go online at the start of the coming decade at the latest," Szijjártó said in a post on social media.

Russia's Rosatom is the general contractor for the construction of the two blocks.

The existing four blocks at Paks account for about half of Hungary's electricity generation.
