2024 is an 'outstanding year' for the modernization of the Hungarian electricity network, State Secretary Zsófia Koncz at the Ministry of Energy said at the closing ceremony of the Kerepes substation expansion (22 km northeast of central Budapest).

According to profitline.hu, the government is supporting the investments in which new substations are built, existing ones expanded, and transmission line improvements are also implemented with HUF 160 billion, she said.

The expansion of the Hungarian Independent Transmission Operator Company (Mavir) substation is connected with the establishment of the Zugló transmission line, the reconstruction of the line between Zugló and Ócsa, and its connection to the Kerepes substation.
