Solar production in Hungary reached a new peak, according to a release from the Ministry of Energy on its website.

On February 10, domestic solar power plants produced nearly 2,000 megawatts.

According to the announcement, on the day the record was set, more than a third of the total domestic electricity consumption came from weather-dependent renewables.

The previous peak recorded by the Hungarian transmission system operator Mavir Zrt. last summer, on July 13, 2022, was surpassed by 94 megawatts.

Last Friday's production record of 1,953 megawatts was registered at midday.
