Poland's government will cap the price for new offshore wind power capacity at PLN 301.5/MWh (EUR 67.18/MWh), energy portal Montel News reported citing a draft decree by the country's Climate Ministry.
The country plans to award offshore developers of 5.9 GW (gigawatt) wind farms in the Baltic Sea with 25-year contracts for difference by July in a non-competitive procedure run by energy regulator URE.
Last month, Poland passed a law paving the way for the construction of offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea.
