Paks to pay HUF 8.2 bln dividend to the state on falling revenue

At its annual general meeting on Friday, MVM Paksi Atomerőmű decided that on August 15 it would pay a HUF 8.22 bln dividend on last yearʼs earnings to the Hungarian state, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.

The revenue of Hungaryʼs sole nuclear power plant in Paks came to HUF 172.9 bln last year, down 6.8% as compared to the previous year. While the volume of energy produced increased, price cuts to consumers lowered earnings, MTI said.

CEO István Hamvas said earlier in February that the power plant generated 15,649 GWh of electricity last year, accounting for 53.6% of national output.
