MVM trade unit signs purchase agreement with coal-fueled power plant

MVM Partner, which is the trade unit of the state-owned Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM), signed an agreement to purchase power generated by a 100MW block at the country's largest coal-fueled power plant, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.
The contract with power plant company Mátrai Erőmű will be in effect from 2016-2017. MVM Partner said that the agreement is expected to contribute to the implementation of MVM's electricity trade strategy, and that it supports a reduction in Hungary's electricity imports.
