The Hungarian Energy and Utilities Regulatory Authority (MEKH) would like to set an example and take the lead in protecting the environment and participating in solving tasks related to climate change, said Péter János Horváth, MEKH president, at the First National Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference on Climate Change, according to origo.hu.

In his presentation, Horváth pointed out that most of the matters related to climate change are policy issues.

In addition to natural gas and electricity, district heating and water utility sectors, MEKH's supervisory activities also cover the field of waste management, whose activities have a significant impact on the environment and climate change processes, the president said.
