The Czech Republic and Lithuania agreed that it is necessary to more intensively negotiate within the EU about a possible joint energy strategy, the Czech news agency reported on Tuesday.

It is necessary to more intensively negotiate within the EU about a possible joint energy strategy that would take the interests of all member countries into account, Czech Senate chairman Premysl Sobotka told CTK during his visit in Vilnius, Lithuania. Sobotka’s Lithuanian talks also touched on the EU’s energy policy whose main topic is diversification of energy sources. “I like nuclear power plants that are no longer dangerous now,” he said. That is why he appreciated Lithuania’s decision to build a new nuclear power plant, which is to be completed in 2015, according to CTK. (people.com.cn)
