The proportion of electricity produced from renewable sources, including solar panels, has increased significantly in Hungary, according to business daily Világgazdaság.
The 2020 annual report of the Hungarian Energy and Utilities Regulatory Authority (MEKH) reported a 1.5% decline in total domestic energy use.
Official statistics released at the end of last year showed that while the resource use of the population had increased, that of industry and transport decreased significantly by 12% compared to 2019.
Meanwhile, the government has also welcomed the fact that it seems increasingly certain that the EU will not be able to sweep nuclear power plant capacity off the table during the green energy revolution.
