EDF considers merging Hungarian units

Green Energy

French power company EDF is considering the possibility of merging its two Hungarian units, Budapest Power Plant and EDF Demasz, EDF's director for Europe Gerard Roth said at a press conference on Thursday.

"We're not in a hurry," Gerard Roth said, adding that a decision on the matter was expected to be taken in the first quarter of 2012.

Budapest Power Plant generates heat and electricity. EDF Demasz is a regional electricity distributor.
