E.ON to launch Hungarian Gönyű project
German energy company E.ON will soon start the construction of its first major power plant in Gönyű (North West Hungary), board member István Bakács said.
The winner of the power plant equipment tender will be announced in October, he said. E.ON established a project company, E.ON Erőművek Kft last year to manage the construction works of the 400 Megawatt capacity plant. E.ON will invest €270 million ($369 million) in the construction, which will be finished by 2010, Bakács said. The power plant will require 580 million cubic meters of natural gas per year, which will be supplied by E.ON Földgáz Trade Kft. (Napi Gazdaság)
