E.ON to build 400 MW gas-fired plant in Hungary

E.ON AG, Germany's biggest utility, said it plans to build a 400-megawatt gas-fired power plant in Hungary.

The power station, which is to be built near the city of Gönyű, is expected to start production in 2010, the Dusseldorf- based company said in an e-mailed statement today. The project will cost €270 million ($359 million). The capacity of the combined-cycle gas turbine plant may be doubled to 800 megawatts at some point in the future, the company said. (Bloomberg)
