The assembly of Hungary's first industrial-scale green hydrogen plant has started at the Bükkábrányi solar park in the northeast of the country, Bükkábrány Energy Park said yesterday, according to autopro.hu.
All of the equipment necessary for the plant, including a 1 MW electrolyzer from Plug Power and compressors from Ganzair Kompresszortechnika, have been delivered.
The pilot plant is set to start operating in August. Bükkábrány Energy Park, a Mészáros Group member, is partnering with the University of Szeged (170 km southeast of Budapest) on the European Union-funded project.
Bükkábrány Energy Park's 22 MW solar park is located at the site of a repurposed lignite surface mine.
