Alpiq Csepel expects to take a final decision on a HUF 100 billion capacity expansion at its power plant in Budapest by the end of this year or early next year, CEO Gábor Briglovics told MTI.

Briglovics has already obtained the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IP%) permit for a third block at the plant. He added that the 430MW block would supply power to 70,000-80,000 homes and district heating to a further 20,000.

Alpiq Csepel announced the expansion plans two years earlier. At the time, Briglovics said at a final decision was expected to be taken in 2011.
