Ukraine resumes gas deliveries from Hungary
Deliveries of gas from Hungary to Ukraine resumed in October following a one-month hiatus, Ukrainian transmission system operator Ukrtransgaz said yesterday.
Deliveries resumed on October 3 and imports reached 2.5m cubic meters in the first week of this month, Ukrtransgaz said.
Daily deliveries come to about 500,000 cubic meters a day, it added.
Hungary has delivered about 400 million cubic meters of gas to Ukraine since the beginning of the year.
This past winter, during the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Hungary cut gas delivery to Ukraine, spurring charges that the decision was political. Hungary maintained at the time that it had to cut the supply to Ukraine because its own reserves were too low.
