Petrom seeks transport routes

Romanian oil and gas company Petrom would like to start exporting gas through a pipeline under construction to run between Romania and Hungary.

Eleven Romanian companies want to import gas through the pipeline, while one wants to export it, an official from pipeline operator Transgaz told Romanian news agency Rompres  on Wednesday.

Rompres, citing a survey prepared last year. Though the official declined to reveal the company that wants to export gas, a market source told Rompres it is Petrom.

The 109-kilometre pipeline will connect the Romanian city of Arad with Szeged, in Hungary. (MTI – Econews)
