Hungary, Slovenia to reach agreement on connecting gas, electricity networks

A joint cabinet meeting of the governments of Hungary and Slovenia held today is expected to result in agreements to connect the two countriesʼ gas and electricity networks, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjártó told Hungarian news agency MTI on the telephone after meeting with his counterpart, Karl Erjavec, in Ljubljana.
The agreements will improve both countriesʼ energy security and contribute to the establishment of an integrated electricity network in Central Europe, Szijjártó said.
The gas interconnector will have an annual capacity of 1.3 billion cubic meters, he added.
Six agreements will be signed at the joint cabinet meeting.
