Hungary may raise electricity prices 5% in 2007
Hungary may raise the price of electricity by 5% for household and industrial users next year, triggered mostly by higher gas prices, Népszava reported citing industry experts.
Every 10% increase in gas prices prompts a 1.5% climb in electricity prices in the country because more than a third of Hungary's power plants use gas, the newspaper said.
Gas prices in Hungary have risen by some 30% this year, tracking world prices with a six to nine month delay, Népszava said.
