Ft 0.17 per cubic meter to be built into cost of gas

Energy Trade

An additional Ft 0.17 per cubic meter will be built into the cost of gas from January 1, 2007 to pay for a government-mandated 1.2 billion-cubic-meter strategic gas reserve, spokesman of MSzKSz Strategic Gas Reserve, Zoltán Sipos said on Tuesday.

The cost of paying for the reserve calculates as Ft 170 per thousand cubic meters of gas, and Ft 5,000 per terrajoule of heat, Sipos said. Sipos was speaking after the MSzKSz Strategic Gas Reserve Zrt board approved proposals by Hungarian oil and gas company Mol Nyrt on the construction of the reserve. Mol won the right to build the facility in a tender, but MSzKSz later asked the company to lower its offer price. The reserve will now cost Ft 150 billion to build, excluding the cost of filling it with gas. (Mti-Eco)
