BP plans gas pipeline from Azerbaijan to Austria via Hungary - FT
London-based global oil and gas company BP has formulated a plan to transport gas from Azerbaijan to Austria via Hungary through existing infrastructure and a new, 1,300km pipeline from western Turkey through Bulgaria and Romania to the border of Hungary, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.
The proposed South-East Europe Pipeline would transport gas from the Shah Deniz field in Azerbaijan, which BP is developing in consortium with six other companies, to Austria's gas hub.
The pipeline is the newest of four plans from which the consortium will choose by the end of the year in view of transporting gas from the Shaz Deniz field to Europe.
