Amount of natural gas stored in Hungary increases

The amount of gas stored in the European Union in May was 10 percentage points higher than a year ago, and the amount held in Hungary increased by a total of 48% in the previous month compared to the same period last year, the Hungarian Energy and Utilities Administration (MEKH) revealed in its monthly natural gas market report, according to Világgazdaság.
May was the first month since the outbreak of war in which total imports to European markets fell compared to the same month of the previous year, MEKH said.
In the earlier months, the higher LNG and Norwegian deliveries could make up for the lost Russian imports, but in May, the size of all available sources decreased by 5%.
