EJMSZ: Raising profile of engineering profession may benefit economy
Making up for a shortage of engineers in Hungary could add another HUF 50 bln to output, according to future engineers association EJMSZ, chairman László Ábrahám told journalists yesterday.
Approximately 4,000 engineering positions remain unfilled in Hungary, Ábrahám said, citing a survey by Experis Hungary, MTI reports.
He blamed part of the problem on a general unfamiliarity with the profession, adding that EJMSZ had introduced engineering to pupils in 22 Hungarian schools in presentations over the past two years.
