Cooperative inaugurates honey processing and bottling plant
The API-GAR Cooperative yesterday inaugurated a honey processing and packaging plant, completed through investment of HUF 35 mln, in Tiszafüred, eastern Hungary. The inauguration was attended by farm minister Sándor Fazekas.
Fazekas noted that Hungarian beekeepers produce 22,000-24,000 tonnes of honey a year, exporting more than three-quarters of their output, primarily to Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom. Hungary produces 40% of the honey sold in the European Union, with honey exports generating annual revenue of around €60 mln, he added.
