Community forums about Paks upgrade begin
The first of a series of forums involving 41 communities on the upgrade of the Paks nuclear power plant was held in Kalocsa, central Hungary, yesterday.
Attila Aszódi, the government commissioner for the upgrade, said the public forums were an important part of the process of environmental licensing for the project. The licensing comprises an international phase as well as a domestic one, he said.
Thirty European countries were sent the environmental impact studies of the upgrade. Of these, ten expressed interest in participating in the licensing procedure, he added.
