BUX outperforms western European peers

The Budapest Stock Exchangeʼs main BUX index finished the session on Tuesday up 1.19% at 27,410.14 as three out of the four blue chips showed gains.

OTP Bank advanced 1.30% to HUF 6,630 on turnover of HUF 3.9 bln from a HUF 8.5 bln session total.

Oil and gas company MOL rose 0.49% to HUF 17,595 on turnover of HUF 1.5 bln.

Drugmaker Richter gained 2.65% to HUF 5,800 on turnover of HUF 2.4 bln.

Magyar Telekom lost 0.45% to HUF 445 on turnover of HUF 0.6 bln.

The bourseʼs mid-cap BUMIX index fell 0.14% to 1,710.67. 

Elsewhere in the region, Warsawʼs WIG 20 rose 0.24% and the Prague PX advanced 0.68%.

Western Europeʼs biggest indices were down before the end of trade on Tuesday. Londonʼs FTSE edged down 0.01%, Frankfurtʼs DAX fell 0.74% and the CAC 40 in Paris lost 0.67%.
