Amendments to ’13 budget in parliament today

Initiatives

Amendments to the 2013 budget of the central government will be voted on today, with the constitutional majority held by the Fidesz-KDNP coalition expected to rubber-stamp more funds.

The influx is required due to costs including those related to the new teacher pay scheme (HUF 32.5 billion), purchase of Hungary-based units of Germany-based utility company E.ON (HUF 71 billion) and the integration of the country’s savings cooperatives under Takarékbank.

Final accounting of the 2012 central budget will be closed in today’s session as well.
