Union Biztosító premiums revenue climbs almost 7% in 2012
Union Biztosító, the Hungarian unit of the Vienna Insurance Group, had revenue from premiums of HUF 27.1 billion in 2012, up 6.5% from the previous year, the insurer said on Monday. Life insurance policies generated HUF 9.3 billion of premiums revenue. General insurance policies accounted for HUF 17.8 billion. General insurance premiums revenue rose 21% on the back of corporate asset and liability coverage, group accident insurance and home insurance. Union Biztosító's pre-tax profit rose 17% to HUF 496 million last year.
