Insurance claims from storm approach HUF 4.8 bln
Claims by policy holders on damages resulting from a severe storm that swept through Hungary Wednesday of last week could come close to HUF 4.8 bln, the Hungarian Insurers Association (MABISZ) said yesterday.
MABISZ put the number of claims at 34,795. A week earlier, MABISZ had put the claims on the storm damages at HUF 3 bln. Cabinet chief János Lázár said a week ago that the government would weigh the possibility of compensation for Hungarians hit by the storm who were not covered by insurance at a cabinet meeting on July 21.
