Hungary fruit crop could reach 1 mln tons
Hungary's fruit crop could reach 1 million tons this year, up from the usual harvest of around 800,000 tons, Béla Martonffy, the head of professional association FruitVeb, told Hungarian news agency MTI today.
Martonffy elaborated that the big crop was supported by the mild winter and by growers' action of taking FruitVeb's advice. The apple crop alone is set to reach 780,000-800,000 tons this year, the head added.
