2022 3rd Warmest Year Since 1901

The year 2022 was the third warmest in Hungary since 1901, with several months at least 2ºC warmer than the average.

The average summer temperature was the highest nationwide since the beginning of the 20th century, the National Meteorological Agency said in a post on its Facebook page.

According to the measurements, the national average mean temperature in 2022 was 11.83ºC, which is 1.1ºC higher than the average for 1991-2020.

The warmest year in Hungary was 2019 when the national average temperature was 12.05ºC. In 2018, the second warmest, the national average was 11.93ºC.
