Report: Refugees take a bus towards Croatia

Not more than a day after Croatia announced it would welcome refugees, a bus left the Serbian town of Kanjiža near the Hungarian border this morning to take refugees to Croatia, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.

Some 50 refugees reportedly boarded the bus, but it is unclear as to who is operating the bus line. MTI noted that there are still buses leaving Kanjiža for the Horgos-Röszke border crossing, despite the fact that refugees are being informed, with the help of interpreters, that the Hungarian border is closed.

The news agency reported that hundreds of refugees continue to wait for the Hungarian authorities to let them cross the border at Horgos-Röszke and hundreds are resting in tents pitched on the Serbian side of the fence.

Some refugees began to pack up and leave for Croatia, however, they are not sure about which directions to go and are asking journalists at the scene for help.
