KSH: Hungary hog, cattle and chicken stock up in H1

The first half of 2014 saw rise in farmers’ stock of hogs, cattle and chicken, fresh data published by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) revealed today.

Hog stock experienced a rise of year-on-year 204,000 to 3.1 mln to June 1, increasing by 82,000 from December  1.

The stock of cattle rose 25,000 from a year earlier to 788,000, and was up 5,000 from December 1.

The stock of chickens rose 2.6 mln to 36.5 mln in the twelve months to June 1. Compared with December 1, the stock of chickens was up 7 mln.
