KSH: Corn harvest grows 36% in 2014

Corn harvest yields in Hungary rose by a year-on-year 35.7% to 9,168,800 tons in 2014, exceeding average harvests in the years 2009-2013 by 34.7%, and rising on average by 42.3% in 2014 from the previous year, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported today.
The wheat harvest rose by a y.o.y. 3.5% to 5,234,900 tons in 2014; it was 22.7% above the average harvest yield recorded for the years 2009-2013, while average wheat yield rose by a y.o.y. 1.5% in 2014 from the previous year.
The sugar beet harvest increased by a y.o.y. 2.0% to 1,010,100 tons and was 17.9% over the average harvest in the years 2009-2013.
The sunflower harvest climbed by a y.o.y. 4.8% to 1,555,200 tons from the previous year and was 21.5% over the average yields in the years 2009-2013.
