Hungaryʼs wheat harvest could exceed 5 million tons this year, which would make it about equal to last yearʼs harvest, the head of the National Grain Growers Association (GOSZ) told Hungarian news agency MTI today.

Approximately 40% of the harvest is expected to be of milling quality, said Jozsef Vancsura. This yearʼs harvest will be completed by the weekend, he added.

Hungaryʼs wheat harvest was 5.3 million tons last year, data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show.
