Farmers finish wheat harvest in Tolna County
The average yield of winter wheat in Tolna County is over six tonnes, which is higher than last year's average but lower than in previous years, according to the Tolna County President of the National Chamber of Agriculture, Edit Vendégh, writes agroinform.hu. I
n Tolna, farmers have completed harvesting the entire 47,000-hectare production area, with an average yield per hectare of 6.14 tonnes.
Being of mixed quality, this wheat will be milled with superior wheat grown in soil with better water management to improve its quality.
A lack of rain is the reason for the poorer yield.
