Farm sector gross value rises 4.1%

The gross value of the output of Hungary's farm sector rose 4.1% to HUF 2.953 trillion in 2020, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a first estimate.

Output volume fell 2.1% but prices rose 6.3%. Output value of the crops and horticulture products segment increased 5.8% to HUF 1.72 trillion as volume fell 2.9% but prices climbed 9%.

Output value of the live animals and animal products segment rose 1.2% to HUF 1.019 tln as volume dropped 1.6% and prices increased 2.8%. Gross value added of the farm sector rose 8.6% to HUF 1.266 tln.

Net income of farming businesses climbed 14.9% to HUF 809 billion.
