More than 80% of the corn produced on 31,630 hectares in Zala County has already been harvested, with an average yield of 8.4 tons per hectare, according to the county president of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) Krisztián Sabján, writes profitline.hu.

The average yield of maize per hectare exceeded last year's average yield by 0.2 tonnes, and there are no problems with the quality of the harvest, Sabján explained.

He added that farmers could sell corn for nearly HUF 88,900 per tonne, 40-50% higher than last year.
